There are 2 ways to redirect a URL on your Eventtia platform: the first is through a full domain and the second is through a subdomain. Have you identified which redirect you want to set up? Perfect! Let’s go!
Step 1: Access the Domain Administration Panel
Log into the administration panel of your domain provider (e.g., GoDaddy, Namecheap, Google Domains).
Step 2: Configure the DNS
Description: Go to the DNS configuration section. This is where you set up the redirection.
Step 3: Add a Redirection Record
Description: Add a new record.
The type of record can be an A record, a CNAME record, or a web redirect depending on the provider. Configure the records in order to point them to the destination domain.
"Here are the types of records you need to identify to set up your redirection on Eventtia"
- A Record: Points to a specific IP address.
- CNAME Record: Points to another domain.
- Web Redirect: Directly redirects the domain traffic to another domain.
Step 4: Save Changes and Propagation
Description: Save the changes and wait for the DNS changes to propagate. This process can take from a few hours to 72 hours.
Subdomain Redirection
Step 1: Access the Domain Administration Panel
Description: Log in to the administration panel of your domain provider (e.g., GoDaddy, Namecheap, Google Domains).
Step 2: Access the DNS Configuration
Navigate to "My Products" and select the domain you want to redirect. Click on "DNS" to access the DNS configuration. Add a new redirect record.
- In the DNS management section, look for the option to add a new record.
- Choose the type of record you want to use (A, CNAME, or URL Redirect).
Step 3: Configure the Redirect Record
Here, you configure the details of the record.
- If you are using an A record, enter the destination IP address.
- If you are using a CNAME record, enter the domain you want to redirect to.
- If you are using a URL redirect, enter the full destination URL.
Step 4: Save the Changes
Once the record is configured, make sure to save the changes. DNS propagation can take from a few hours to 72 hours.
